'She Was a Very Happy Person'

Vicar's Tribute to Mrs. A. M. Upton

THE Vicar of Higham Ferrers, the Rev. H. S. Hoar, paid tribute to the memory of Mrs. Alice Mary Upton at the funeral service at St Mary's Church, Higham Ferrers, when he said that she was a very happy person and was always a regular communicant.

Mrs. Upton, mother of the Mayor of Higham, died at her home, 32, Kimbolton Road, Higham Ferrers, on Sunday. She was 87. The funeral took place on Wednesday, with interment at Higham Ferrers Cemetery.

The chief mourners were Coun. S. Upton (son), Mrs. M. J. Riptin, Mrs. F. A. Pack, Mrs. D. Barker, Miss V. Upton, Miss Lilian Upton and Miss Linda Upton (daughters), and three grandchildren.
