Rushden Echo, 31st August 1928, transcribed by Kay Collins

The Late Mr. Abraham Tysoe

Funeral Service at Podington
A Prominent Independent Wesleyan

The funeral took place at Podington on Monday of Mr. Abraham Tysoe, aged 63, whose death was reported in last week’s Rushden Echo. The blinds at most of the houses in the village were drawn during the service.

Mr. Tysoe, one of the oldest members of the Independent Wesleyan Church at Podington, had been a devoted worker before the present chapel was built. He was one of the founders of the new chapel. For very many years also he was gamekeeper for Lieut.-Colonel Orlebar. Mrs. Tysoe was for long the schoolmistress at Podington.

The first part of the service was held in the Independent Wesleyan Church and was attended by a large congregation.
