Killed
Lance Corporal Stanley Tompkins (20) of the Northants Regiment, third son of Mrs. W. Tompkins, of High street Wollaston, was killed in action in France on September 23rd. He joined up four years ago, prior to which he was a shoe operative in the employ of Mr. Luther Austin, shoe manufacturer. His father, Pte. Walter Tompkins died while on active service nine months ago and his elder brother is serving in France.
