An Instantaneous Death- Irchester Soldier Shot

Pte. Walter Stevenson, of the Duke of Wellington West Riding Regt., son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stevenson, of Wollaston Road, Irchester, was killed instantly on November 1st by a machine gun bullet in the head. He joined the Army in January 1918, had been in France for some months and was 19 years old. Deceased was formerly employed as a clicker by Mr. Marlow of Rushden.
