Death of Mr J SpongOn Sunday evening last Mr. J. Spong, farmer, expired. The deceased gentleman has been confined to his house for some years past, but was not taken worse until Sunday morning. Most of the members of his family had gone to church, but the service had hardly commenced when they were summoned to what proved to be the death-bed of their parent. The deceased gentleman was one of the oldest members of the Corporation. He has been an alderman for a great many years, and has, we believe, been more than once Mayor of the borough. Before his illness he took a leading part in all parochial affairs, and as a consequence his loss is deplored by a large circle of friends. He has left a widow and five grown-up children to deplore his loss. He was in the 63rd year of his age.
