Wellingborough News, 18th August 1883, transcribed by Kay Collins
Thomas Sparks
THE DROWNING FATALITY—Thomas Sparks, whose sad death caused such a sensation in this neighbourhood last Tuesday evening, was connected with one of the old families of this village. His father, George Sparks, was known by the old inhabitants as a carpenter and wheelwright. The deceased was for more than half a century one of the Irchester ringers, and was one of those who could always be depended on for chiming the bells on the sabbath.
