Six Soldier Sons

These are the six soldier sons of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Smith of "Fair View" Marshalls Road, Raunds.

Unofficial news was received this week that the eldest son, Pte Richard Smith, Essex Regt, had been killed in action. His wife resides in Albert Street, Kettering, and he leaves a widow and six children to mourn their loss.

Pte. Arthur Smith, has just been discharged from the Army.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith have another son in America, Walter Smith, who has just received his call-up papers.

Raunds Man Killed
Mr. R. Smith, Kettering, late of Raunds, has received news that her husband, Pte. R. Smith, Essex Regiment, was killed in France on April 5th. Before enlisting he worked for the Regulation Works, Raunds. He played for Raunds Town Football Club for a number of years. He leaves a widow and six children.

Raunds Man Killed
Mrs. R. Smith, 38 Albert Street, Kettering, and late of Raunds, has received the sad official news that her husband, Pte. R. smith, of the Essex Regt., was killed in France on the 5th of April. Pte. R. Smith only joined up on October 1st 1917, going to France on February 1st this year. Before enlisting he worked for the Regulation Works of Raunds. He also played football for Raunds Town for a number of years. He leaves a widow and six children to mourn their loss.
