Wollaston Private Killed
Mrs. Travel, of Howard-road, Wollaston, has received information that her son, Pte. J. Silby, of the Northants Regiment, was killed in action on August 6th in France. Pte. Silby was about 35 years of age, and was an old soldier, having served through the South African War. Although he had finished his time as reservist when the war broke out, he again enlisted, and was wounded last year. He was a riveter by trade. Mrs. Travel, who is a widow, has three other sons on active service.
