Rushden Carrier Killed
Reservist Fatally Wounded in Action

Private H Ross, carrier between Rushden and Bozeat, son of Mr. O. Ross, of Bozeat, has been killed at the front. Private Ross, who was a reservist, was serving at the front with the Northamptons, when he was mortally wounded, and and intimation of his death was received from the War Office on Wednesday by his sorrow-stricken parents. The deceased’s father for many years travelled daily between Bozeat and Rushden, taking shoe work out to Bozeat workpeople and bringing it back when completed to the Rushden factories. During the last few years Mr. H. Ross succeeded his father in the carrying trade, and was well known in Rushden, Wymington and Podington.
