Thomas Pentelow
Sudden Death of Sweep
A well known Ringstead chimney sweep, Thomas Pentelow, died suddenly on Saturday at his home at New Estate, Ringstead, at the age of 77.

Bedridden for two and a half years, his health had been deteriorating during the past six months. On Friday, when a pensions officer called at the house, Mr. Pentelow was unable to sign his name, and could only make a mark.

He was twice married and leaves a widow and six children by a former marriage.

The circumstances were reported to the coroner, who decided an inquest was not necessary.
