Official Reported Killed

About twelve months ago we published the news that 13437 Pte. Percy Patenall, of the Northants Regiment, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Patenall, 9 Westfield-street, Higham Ferrers, was officially reported as wounded and missing from his unit as from August 20th 1916.

Mr. and Mrs. Patenall have now received an official notification from the War Office that, as no further news has been received concerning their son, his death must now be presumed.

The deceased soldier, who had been twice wounded prior to the date on which he was killed, had been in France about 15 months. He joined Kitchener’s army as a volunteer immediately on the outbreak of war.

Prior to enlistment, he was employed by Messrs Wm. Green & Sons, Rushden.
