Rigours of War - Little Irchester Gunner’s Death in Hospital
Gunner E Maycock of the Royal Field Artillery, whose home was at 44 Newtown-road, Little Irchester, died in No. 10 Stationary Hospital at St Omer, France, on December 23rd from peritonitis. He had been admitted to the hospital on the previous day. Official notice of his death has just been received by his widow, who has three children to support. Gunner Maycock was a reservists and when mobilised in August was employed by the Wellingborough Gas Co., and had previously worked at Messrs Nicholson, Son, and Daniels.
