Mrs. Pricilla Lucas

Obituary—With regret we report the death which occurred on Monday of Mrs. Pricilla Lucas, 66, wife of Mr. Geo. Lucas, of 5 York-road, Higham Ferrers. A sufferer for many years with asthma, Mrs. Lucas had to keep to her bed about a week before her death, which was hastened by heart trouble. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Deceased was a Miss Bird of Souldrop. She had lived at Higham Ferrers many years and used to attend the Wesleyan Sewing Meeting. There are left besides the husband two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Bates, of Rushden, and Miss F. Lucas, to mourn their loss. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, the Rev. H. Graham Payn (Wesleyan minister), officiating. The chief mourners were Mr. George Lucas (husband), Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bates (son-in-law and daughter), Miss F. Lucas (daughter), Mr. H. E. Bates (grandson), Miss Edna Bates (granddaughter), Mr. Arthur Bird (brother), Mrs. J. Betts (sister), Mr. and Mrs. W. Maple (brother-in-law and sister), Mrs. A. Andrews (sister-in-law), Mrs. F. Webb (niece), Mr. and Mrs. F. Betts (nephew and niece), Mrs. E. Bird, Mrs. W. Goodship, Mrs. A. Wilsher (nieces), Mr. S. Houghton (friend). There were also a number of other friends present. Mr. Fred Parker carried out the funeral arrangements.
