Death From Pneumonia—Mrs J Lawman, Beech-hill, received a telegram on Sunday from Catterick Camp, asking her to go at once, as her husband, Pte Jesse Lawman, Norfolk Regiment, was very ill. Mrs Lawman and he mother-in-law at once went, but Pte Lawman died on Monday from double pneumonia, following influenza. He was 27 years of age, and leaves a wife and two young children.

Died in England – Raunds Soldier’s Death From Pneumonia

Jesse LawmanPte. Jesse Lawman, Norfolk Regiment, husband of Mrs. Lawman, of Beech Hill, Raunds, passed away at Catterick Camp about eleven o’clock Monday night on December 2nd from double pneumonia, following influenza. Pte Lawman had been on both the Italian and Western fronts. He was sent back to England with a sprained ankle and septic poisoning and was home at Raunds about a month ago. He was 27 years of age and leaves a widow and two young children to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at Raunds on the following Saturday afternoon.
