A Good Soldier - Raunds Fusilier Reported Killed
Mr C W Knighton, of Bridge-street, Raunds, received a letter from the Officer Commanding just before last Christmas saying that his son, Pte A J Knighton, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, was missing and believed killed on December 3rd last. Last week Mr and Mrs Knighton received official news that their son was killed on or about December 3rd last. The Commanding Officer said in his letter that Pte Knighton was a good soldier, liked and respected by everyone, and that he would be missed by all. He was 20 years of age in July last, and was formerly in the employ of Messrs Coggins and Co.
