The Northampton Mercury, 18th August 1922, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mrs Hannah Knighton

A large circle of friends greatly regret the death of Mrs Knighton, the landlady of the Robin Hood Hotel at Raunds, who passed away very suddenly. She was talking to customers only about half an hour before her death. It is 42 years since her late husband became landlord of the house, and she had been the licensee since his death 18 years ago.

From 'Raunds, Picturing the past' by
David Hall, Ruth Harding and Cyril Putt

The Robin Hood was at the bottom of Hill Street, near the junction with Brook Street. In 1739 it was called the Maidenhead, owned by Richard Tomlinson.

William Blow, victualler and butcher was landlord in the mid 19th century. In 1877 it was listed as the Robin Hood and Little John when William Lack, also a butcher, was proprietor.

Amos Knighton, grocer and farmer kept the Robin Hood in the 1880s and 1890s.

It was demolished in the 1970s.
