| The Death of Mrs. Horrell, wife of Mr. John Horrell, boot manufacturer, of the Maples, Raunds, took place on Tuesday morning after a long and painful illness. The deceased lady, who was most highly esteemed in Raunds, was 76 years of age. For the last ten years she had been blind, and she had of late suffered from an acute internal complaint. Like her husband, Mrs. Horrell was a loyal and hard-working member of the Wesleyan Church, and, until her infirmity prevented her, she was a most successful Sunday school teacher and the leader. On many occasions she and her husband placed their grounds at the disposal of the Wesleyan friends for garden parties and social gatherings, and in most liberal gifts of money and devoted service. Mrs. Horrell and her bereaved husband have assisted the cause of Wesleyan Methodism at Raunds. The deceased lady was a sister of Mrs. B. Vorley, of Rushden. The funeral took place this (Friday) afternoon, the mourners including Mr. John Horrell (husband), Mr. and Mrs. J. Cecil Horrell (son and daughter-in-law), and Mr. and Mrs. B. Vorley, of Rushden (sister and brother-in-law). |
