Mrs Ellen Hodby

Mrs Ellen Hodby, whose death occurred at the Mary Abbott’s Hospital, Kensington, London, on the fifth of this month, was a resident and native of Knotting Green, Beds., where she was a member of the local branch of the Mothers’ Union. She had been a patient for six weeks in the Brompton Hospital, and was transferred to Kensington on the Wednesday before her death. A husband, three sons and two daughters are bereaved.

The Rev J W Weldon Davies conducted the funeral service at Knotting Church on Thursday of last week, and the family mourners were: Mr L Hodby (husband), Mrs C Knight and Miss W Hodby (daughters), Messrs A Hodby, C Hodby and J Hodby (sons), Mr and Mrs W Salisbury, Mr and Mrs J Salisbury (brothers and sisters-in-law), Mr J Salisbury (brother), Mr C Knight (son-in-law), Mr and Mrs F Bayes (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mr G E Hodby (brother-in-law), Miss Darnell (cousin), and Mr and Mrs Horn (cousins).

There were also present many friends and neighbours of Knotting and Knotting Green.

The inscriptions on the floral tributes were as follows:-
