Rushden Echo, 1st January 1915, transcribed by Kay Collins
child of John Hilliard

Irchester - An Inquest was held by Mr J T Parker, at the Red Lion, on Wednesday, on the body of the infant male child of John Hilliard, labourer, Knuston. Mrs Hilliard said deceased was born on Dec. 15th, and was one of twins. It was weakly from birth, and appeared worse on Monday and died on Tuesday. Jane Green, certified midwife, Rushden, who attended deceased and Margaret Willmott, also gave evidence. Dr Gabb (Irchester) said he saw deceased for the first time on Tuesday afternoon. Death was due, in his opinion, to malnutrition. There was no evidence of neglect. The jury returned a verdict of “Death from natural causes.”
