| A Workhouse Inmate, Frederick Height, aged 80, of Raunds, who was subject to heart attacks, was found severely hurt by a fall against a piece of metal, which had cut his left temple. He died within a few minutes. At the inquest at Thrapston on Saturday, George White, Master of the Workhouse, said deceased was admitted on Aug. 5th 1922. On Jan 15th, about 3.40p.m., the porter came for witness’s assistance. Witness went, and found deceased lying on the floor of the lavatory, with the nurse in charge attending him. Witness thought deceased was dead before he got to him.—Dr Gainer said deceased was subject to fainting fits. He had cut his head, but this was not the direct cause of death, he might had had a heart attack and fallen down and not struck his head anywhere, and still have died.—The Coroner recorded a verdict that the deceased accidentally came to his death by his fall. |
