Raunds Footballer Missing

Mr. and Mrs. George Haxley, of Gladstone-street, Raunds, have received official news from the Machine Gun Corps Record Office that their youngest son, Gunner J. H. Haxley, of the Machine Gun Corps, was posted as missing on the 22nd Day of October last. Gunner “Jack” Haxley joined up in January of this year, and went out to France in May. “Jack” was well-known in local football circles as captain of the Raunds Town F.C., and a back who was difficult to beat.
