Wollaston Gas Manager Loses a Second Son

Mr. G. H. Green, manager of the Wollaston Gas Works, has received information that his second son, Corpl. John Herbert Green, of the Rifle Brigade, was killed in action in France on May 3rd. He was 27 years of age, and enlisted two years ago. A good part of the time has been spent in France. Prior to enlistment he was a gas fitter in the employ of the Wollaston Gas Company. The deepest sympathy is felt for the bereaved ones, as this is the second son to fall in action, the elder brother, Corpl. G. H. Green, of the same regiment, having been killed about eighteen months ago. The Office Commanding the company says: “He was one of the best men in the company, and everyone will feel his loss greatly. He was a great favourite with all the men, and a fine soldier.”
