Higham Soldier Killed
Rifleman H. Fletton A Local Runner
We regret to report that Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Fletton, of 3 School-place, Higham Ferrers, have received official news of the death in action on July 21st of their second son, Rifleman Harry Fletton, King’s Royal Rifle Corps. The news comes as a shock to many friends in Higham Ferrers, for the deceased soldier was well-known and well-liked in the district. He was a local professional runner some time ago, until he strained his side, and he won several awards in the district. He was 27 years of age at the time of his death. He enlisted in November last and went to the front on June 1st. He was formerly employed by Mr. Sudborough, Commercial-street, Higham Ferrers.
