Wellingborough News, 6th May 1887, transcribed by Kay Collins
Stephen Fensum

INQUEST—On Thursday an inquest was held at the Axe and Compass Inn, Ringstead, before Mr. J. T. Parker, touching the sudden death of Stephen Fensum, aged 47 years, a shoemaker, who died early on Tuesday morning. Dr. Masters, of Thrapston, had attended the deceased, who had suffered from acute rheumatism, and from an acute attack of congestion of both his lungs. His heart was also diseased, and this no doubt accelerated death.— Charlotte Fensum, deceased's wife, said during the winter her husband complained of pains in his back and heart.—Robert Childs also gave evidence.—A verdict of "Death from natural causes" was returned.
