Death of the Sexton—The parishioners of the village greatly regret the death on Sunday morning last at the age of 64, of Mr George Farey, who had held for the past 24 years held the post of sexton. Deceased was also a member of the choir for a number of years presvious to his taking up the other duties, and at one time was a ringer. He assisted in the chiming for service until Christmas last year, when failing health compelled him to give up his work.

The funeral took place on Tuesday, when the choir were present and sang the hymns, “Peace, perfect peace” and “On the resurrection morn” these being two of deceased’s favourites hymns. Miss Symon presided at the organ. After the service, as a token of respect, the ringers rang a short peal with the bells half-muffled.
