IRCHESTER Methodist Church was packed to capacity on Wednesday with sports representatives, business colleagues and friends for the funeral service of Mr. Fred Dunmore, who died on Saturday, aged 70.
Mr. Dunmore, president of Northamptonshire Football Association and chairman of the United Counties League, was described as "a man among men" by Mr. George S. Green, of Rushden Baptist Church, who conducted the service with the Rev. Frank Brown, minister of Walgrave Baptist Church. Both were lifelong friends of Mr. Dunmore.
Among the many organisations represented were the Football Association, Northamptonshire and Peterborough Football Associations, the United Counties League, Wellingborough Conservative Association, Masonic Lodges and auctioneers, butchers and farmers with whom Mr. Dunmore was connected during his business life.
