Mr. Stephen Craxton

Nearly 100 - Aged Bozeat Resident’s Death

Mr CraxtonMr. Stephen Craxton, formerly of Sunnyview, Bozeat, passed away in his 100th year on the 19th inst., and the funeral took place on Saturday. The mourners were Mr. W. Craxton (son), Mrs. W. Jolley, Mrs. E. Corby and Miss E. Craxton (daughters).

The first part of the service was taken in the Wesleyan Chapel, the officiating minister being the Rev. W.J. May, of Wellingborough. Deceased had five children, one son and four daughters, three of the latter surviving him. He had five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Up to three years ago he was able to cultivate his allotment. For 60 years he worked on Greenfield Farm, between Bozeat and Strixton. He had been confined to his room for the last few months.
