The funeral of Mr. John Dudley Cox, of Wharf-road, Higham Ferrers whose death at the age of 65 was announced last week, took place at Higham on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. P. Kirk conducting a service at St. Mary's Church.
The mourners were: Mrs. Cox (widow), Mr. and Mrs. Albert Homan (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Philip Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cox (brothers and sisters-in-law), Mrs. A. Leach, Bedford (sister), Mr. and Mrs. Mayo (brother and sister-in-law), Miss L. Mayo (niece), Mr. and Mrs. J. Cox (cousins), and Messrs. Ball, Peat, Pickford, Freeman and Murray (fellow workmen on the Higham Ferrers Town Council staff).
