Knotting Green
The funeral took place on October 30th of the late Mr John Cox, aged 78 years, of Knotting Green. The deceased, who passed away on October 27th, after a long and painful illness, which he bore with remarkable patience, was well-known and highly respected in the district. He was of a bright and cheerful disposition, and he will be long remembered by those who knew him for his genial temperament and his cheery conversation. For manu years he was a worshipper at the Knotting Green Wesleyan Chapel, and until his failing powers prevented his attendance, was always present at the services. He will be greatly missed in the village. The Rev F E M Girling officiated at the funeral, which took place in Knotting Churchyard. The coffin bore the inscription:-

Died October 27th 1917
Aged 78 years.
