Impressive Memorial Service at Higham Ferrers
Another of those services, alas! only too familiar during the past few monthsservices held in memory of devoted members of the Ambulance Corps who have fallen victims to enteric feverwas held at the Wesleyan Chapel, Higham Ferrers, on Sunday night. The deceased young man was Edward Cowley, a native of Graffham, and resided for some time at Higham Ferrers. He was attached to the Higham Ambulance Corps, and volunteered for service in South Africa. He returned at Christmas, but was taken ill with enteric fever, supposed to have been contracted before returning home.
Among those present were about 100 members of various local Ambulance Corps, including Higham Ferrers, Rushden, Wellingborough, Irthlingborough, Ringstead, Wollaston, Bozeat and Finedon.
