After a month’s illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Cooke, wife of Mr. William Cooke, of 98, High-street, Higham Ferrers, died at her home on Saturday, aged 79 years.
Mrs. Cooke, who was a native of Peterborough, resided at Rushden before moving to Higham Ferrers. She had attended the Higham Ferrers Parish Church.
Besides her husband, one son and three daughters are bereaved. They are Mr. John Cooke, Rushden, Mrs. A. Warner, Mrs. K. Clarke, Raunds, and Miss Marie Cooke. A son, Mr. Tom Clarke, was killed in the Great War.
The funeral took place at Higham Ferrers on Tuesday afternoon, a service at St. Mary’s Church being conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. P. Kirk. The mourners were: Mr. William Cooke and Mrs. F. Warner (husband and daughter), Mr. John W. Cooke and Mrs. W. Clarke, Raunds (son and daughter), Mr. F. Warner and Miss Marie Cooke (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whittle, London (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs. W. Clarke, Raunds and Mrs. J. W. Cooke (son-in-law and daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. Richard Warner (grandson and granddaughter), Mr. C. Valentine (friend).
The arrangements were in the hands of the Co-operative Federal Funeral Service.
