Mrs G Brown of Higham Ferrers

The funeral took place on Saturday of Mrs Hephzibah Brown, of 14, Kimbolton road, Higham Ferrers.

Mrs Brown, who was the wife of Mr Geo Brown (for many years a bell-ringer and organ-blower at the Parish Church) was 71 years of age. Previously she was a regular attendant at Church, but she had been ailing for a long time, although it was only a week before her death oin Wednesday that she had to take to her bed.

Besides the husband are left five children, Mr Jesse Brown, Miss Doris Brown, Mr Charles Brown and Mrs Robinson, of Higham, and Mr William Brown of Rushden.

The Rev L W Wright (Rector of Irthlingborough) conducted the funeral service in the absence of the Vicar of St Mary’s. The family mourners included Mr George Brown (husband), Mrs G Robinson, Mr J J Brown, Mr C Brown, Mr W Brown, Miss Doris Brown (sons and daughters), Mrs C Brown, Mr G Robinson (daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Mrs John Munns (sister), Mrs G Newell, Mr John Munns, Mr and Mrs H Brown (brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law), Miss M Knight, Mr and Mrs J Newell (nephew and nieces), Miss Thirza Mantle, Miss L Adams and Miss C Adams (friends).
