One of the most respected inhabitants of Podington in the person of Mrs. Samuel Brown, aged 78, passed peacefully away on January 2^nd.

She was formerly the nurse of Podington, and had nursed the late Mr. John Claridge, during an illness, also many other people of Rushden. She was loved and respected by all who knew her, and much sympathy is felt with the bereaved family. Deceased leaves, besides the husband, two daughters and three sons. The interment took place in the churchyard on Saturday, the Vicar (Rev. W. Kitchin) conducting the ceremony.
