Sad Death of a Bozeat Lad - A Fatal Slide

An inquest was held at Bozeat, on Tuesday, on the body of Philip Britten, the 6½-year-old son of Sarah Britten, widow, of Bozeat.

The lad was at play in the schoolyard with another boy, sliding on the asphalt. Deceased fell and afterwards complained of felling unwell to his mother, but did not tell her how it happened.

Dr Baxter, of Wollaston, attended deceased up to the time of his death, on Friday last. The doctor certified that death resulted from meningitis, following a fall, and the jury brought in a verdict of “Accidental death.”
