Rushden Echo, 26th December 1919, transcribed by Kay Collins
The Death has taken place of an old and highly-respected inhabitant of Knotting Green in the person of Mr. George Bird. The deceased, who was an old age pensioner, had during the last few years suffered from infirmity, but he was of a bright and cheerful disposition, and bore his sufferings very patiently.
He was a regular attendant at the Wesleyan Chapel until ill-health made his attendance impossible. All his life the deceased had been engaged in farm work. He leaves a widow and several grown-up children.
