Ringstead - SUDDEN DEATH—An inquest was held on Saturday afternoon last, at the New Inn, before Mr. J. T. Parker, coroner, on the body of Mary Rebecca Barker, who was found dead in bed by her husband, John Barker, a shoemaker, on Friday morning. It appears that deceased who was 49 years of age, went to bed in her usual health on Thursday night, and being accustomed to get up between four and five o'clock in the morning to get breakfast for some of the boys of the family before they went to work, she awoke on the morning in question a little after four o'clock and got out of bed to see what time it was. Being rather too early she got into bed again. About half past five the husband awoke, and thinking they had laid too long called to his wife, and as she did not answer he put out his hand to awake her, when he found she was dead. The medical evidence went to show that the cause of death was disease of the heart, and a verdict in accordance therewith was returned.
