Wollaston Rifleman Killed in France
Rifleman Thos. Ball, of the Royal Irish Rifles, husband of Mrs. Ball, London-road, Wollaston, who was killed in France on October 15th. The Chaplain, writing to the widow, paid a high tribute to his character as a soldier. It seem Rifleman Ball was with a party that was in a farmhouse some miles away from the fighting line, when a shell came and killed three of them and wounded several, including the Padre. He was called up over two years ago, prior to which he was a fishmonger in business at Wellingborough, and a well-known Rechabite. A wife and three children are left.
