The funeral took place at Higham Ferrers on Monday of Mr Charles Edward Allen, whose death occurred at the age of 68 years. The Rev H G Reynolds conducted the service at the Methodist Church.
A native of Rushden, Mr Allen had formerly been employed by the Rushden Urban Council, and had recently lived at Higham with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs G Hurst. Other mourners were Mrs Allen, Mr and Mrs L Johnson, Higham Ferrers, Mr Eric Ager, Higham Ferrers, Mrs Moore, Mrs Ingram and Ms Wallace, Kettering and Mrs Langley, Corby.
Funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs F Parker and Sons, Higham Ferrers.
