Higham Ferrers Man Killed – A Good Soldier

Pte H AdamsWe regret to announce that Pte. Harold Adams, 9402 Northants Regt., son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Adams, North-end, Higham Ferrers, is reported unofficially) killed in action. The only news received up to the present of in a letter which Mrs. S. Abbott, of 16 College-street, received yesterday from her son, Drummer Jack Abbott, who acted as stretcher bearer in the charge in which Col. Mobbs was wounded. Drummer Abbott says that Harold Adams was a good soldier and died bravely.

Another Higham Lad Killed

Pte. Harold Adams, Northants regiment, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Adams, North End, Higham Ferrers, is, we regret to state, unofficially reported killed. The only news received up to Friday was that which Drummer J. Abbott, a stretcher bearer, sent to his mother, Mrs. S. Abbott, of 16 College-street, Higham Ferrers. Pte. Adams was one of the “Regulars,” and went to France early in the war, being wounded in November 1914. He was killed whilst taking part in the charge in which Colonel Mobbs was wounded.
