Mrs. Frances Ann Shelton, of 30, North End, Higham Ferrers, died in he arms of her husband on Tuesday morning after an illness which had lasted since Christmas. Aged 77 years, she was a daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Knight, of Rushden, and her husband, Mr. George Leonard Shelton, is a well-known craftsman and antique art dealer.
Before her marriage 49 years ago Mrs. Shelton, as Miss Knight, was well-known in Rushden and district as a dressmaker, and was a member of the old "Top Meeting" Baptist Church. She had maintained her connection with the Park-road Baptist Church, Rushden, until recent illness prevented her attendance. There are no children, but Mrs. Shelton leaves four sisters, one of whom is Mrs. C. Putnam, of Rushden, and a brother, Mr. W. Knight, of Isham, who is at present seriously ill.
The funeral is to take place at Higham Ferrers to-day, the arrangements being in the hands of the Co-operative Federal Funeral Service.

The burial of Mrs Frances Ann Shelton, of 30, North End, Higham Ferrers, who died on March 7, took place at Higham last Friday afternoon, the funeral service being conducted at the house by the Rev T W Gill, minister of the Rushden Park-road Baptist Church.
The mourners were: Mr G L Shelton (husband), Mr and Mrs F Ballard, Southport (brother-in-law and sister), Mr and Mrs C Putnam (brother-in-law and sister), Mr C Putnam (nephew), Miss Doreen Putnam and Mrs H Robb, Northampton (nieces), Mr and Mrs Arthur Shelton (nephew and niece), Mr O Shelton, Kettering, and Miss R Shelton, Kettering (nephew and niece), Mrs E Meadows, Wilby (niece).
Mr R Putnam (nephew) was unable to be present.
