Death of Charles Humphrey—Mr. C. C. Becke, borough coroner, held an enquiry at the Infirmary touching the death of Chas. Humphrey, Irchester, who died at the institution on Friday.—Ann Humphrey, wife of the deceased, said deceased was 44 years of age and was a workman at Messrs. Butlin's ironstone works.—Joseph Fairey, labourer of Irchester, said he worked with deceased at the ironstone works. On the 9th of April he was working close to deceased when some earth slipped, knocking down deceased and breaking his leg.—Dr. Oswald Lane, house surgeon at the Infirmary, said deceased was admitted on the 9th of April, suffering from a compound fracture of the right leg, from the effects of which he died on the 23th of May.—A verdict in accordance with the evidence was returned.—At the close of the inquest Mr. Becke, with his usual generosity, handed the widow a soveieign.
