Three Youths Die

In Memoriam—A tombstone has just been erected in this churchyard, in affectionate remembrance of Benjamin Scraxton, aged 15; William Clayton, aged 16; and Albert Fenson, aged 14, the three unfortunate youths who lost their lives in the gale of Tuesday, February 27th, by a barn falling on them while taking shelter from a storm, as reported in this paper. The tombstone heads the large grave in which they were all interred together. The cost of the stone is defrayed out of the subscription that was set on foot at the time to pay funeral expenses, and which realized over £23.
