Strixton

Strixton is a village and parish in the hundred of Higham Ferrers, diocese of Peterborough, and archdeaconry of Northampton, distant 4ΒΌ miles south-by-east from Wellingborough. The population in 1851 was 56, and the parish contained about 857 acres of land. The Church, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, is in the Early style of English architecture; the living is a discharged rectory, in the gift of Earl Spencer, consolidated with the vicarage of Bozeat, and incumbency of the Rev. Frederick John Pizey, M.A.
