The Rushden Echo, 12th November 1909, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr Ralph Woolley

A fire broke out on Monday at the residence of Mr Ralph Woolley, stationer, of High-street. Some clothes were left in the kitchen, and Mrs Woolley went out for a minute into the shop. On her return she found then kitchen full of smoke and the clothes on fire. It is thought that a sudden gust of wind blowing down the chimney had caused the flames to dart out, setting fire to the clothes. The loss, which is not heavy, is covered by insurance in the Yorkshire Insurance Co. of which the local agent is Mr C Cross, “Echo” Office, Rushden.
