Fire Outbreak
Bar of a Raunds Club Destroyed

On Thursday morning when the stewardess of the Woodbine Working Men's Club, Raunds, went to clean up, it was found that the bar of the club was on fire.

The fire brigade was called by rocket, and the men were quickly on the scene, under Captain T. York. There being a good pressure of water, the flames were quickly subdued. The bar, however, was completely destroyed, but the damage, we understand, is covered by insurance.

P.S. Ellingham and P.C. Newberry also rendered good service.

It is surmised that the outbreak occurred through the throwing down of a cigarette end amongst the sawdust in the bar on Wednesday evening, the fire smouldering in the sawdust till the flames caught good hold this morning.
