Innkeeper's Bankruptcy
Application by a Higham Ferrers Creditor
At the Northampton Bankruptcy Court on Wednesday morning Mr. J. Prentice, solicitor, of Thrapston and Northampton, made an application in the bankruptcy of James Afflick, formerly of the "Green Dragon," Higham Ferrers, who was adjudicated bankrupt in 1908.
Mr. Prentice said that in November, 1913, Mr. F. J. Shelton, of Higham Ferrers, a creditor, received notice of the intention of the Official Receiver to declare a dividend. He had not then filed a proof of debt, but did so in the following month for £51 1s. 2d. The Official Receiver had rejected this except to the extent of £10. Mr. Prentice had given notice of motion for an order of the Court reversing or varying this decision, but he had since had an opportunity of conferring with the debtor's solicitor and the Official Receiver, and it had been agreed that proof should be admitted to rank for dividend to the extent of £37, and on this understanding he asked that the notice of motion should be withdrawn.
The Official Receiver agreed with Mr. Prentice's statement, and his Honour Judge Radcliffe acquiesced to the suggestion.
