Promotion and Wings
News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Smart, of Newton-road, Wollaston, that their son, Bernard M. Smart, has gained his wings and has been promoted to the rank of Pilot Officer, as navigator and wireless operator.
Pilot Officer Smart has completed his training at Quebec, joining the R.A.F. in July, 1943, before which he was a Flight-Sergeant in Wellingborough Grammar School A.T.C. He was educated at Wellingborough Grammar School, and was articled with Messrs. H. W. Pratt, Pollard and Co., accountants, Wellingborough.
