Long Service Awards for WRVS Members
Five people, who have completed a total of more than 75 years service to the community, were presented with long service awards last week.

The women, all members of the Raunds and Stanwick Branch of the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service received the awards during an informal meeting at the home of branch organiser, Mrs Eva Tassell.

The awards marking 15 years service, were presented by regional Administrator Mrs E Lewis, supported by Lady Hesketh.

Those receiving awards were Miss Christine Brown of Butts Road, Raunds; Mrs Edna Putt of Midland Road, Raunds; Mrs Irene Ward of Mansfield Road, Stanwick; Mrs Betty Asson, of Corner Cottage, Stanwick, and Mrs Tassell of Spinney House, Stanwick.

The ceremony was also attended by WRVS district organiser, Mrs Audrey Perkins.
