Messrs. Adams Bros, Raunds
Contractors to His Majesty's Admiralty, War, Post and Colonial Offices

Messrs. Adams Bros, were established more than a quarter of a century ago, and during that time have carried out large Contracts for Naval and Military goods for almost every part of the world.

In addition to making Government Boots, before the War they were making large quantities of Men's Medium and Heavy Class goods for the home and shipping trade, which goods found their way into every market to which English Boots are shipped.

Mr. James Adams for more than twenty years undertook the supervision of the works. This, however, in recent years has devolved upon his two sons: Mr. Walter Adams and Mr. Fred Adams.

Mr. John Adams is responsible for the travelling and outside work of the firm, and is one of the County's most prominent business men. He is a Justice of the Peace, County Councillor, President of the Raunds Boot Manufacturers' Association, Vice-President of the Government Boot and Shoe Contractors' Association, Chairman of the Raunds Urban District Council, besides being a member of the Small Holdings, Allotments, Old Aye Pensions, Education, Finance, Higher Education and other Committees of the Northamptonshire County Council. He was one of the first students of the Technical Boot Classes of the County, and has since taken great interest in Technical Education.
