Ringstead - Education

The Select Committee on Education of the Poor 1818 reported that there was no provision in the village, but
"A Sunday school, supported by voluntary contributions, in which about 40 boys and girls are taught.
Two day schools kept by women, in which about 24 children are taught, at their parents expense"
.
The generality of the poor cannot afford the means of education for their children, and would be glad to possess them.
